Abbotsleigh School

Located at Abbotsleigh Junior School in Wahroonga, this 1,140 square metre centre merged the renovation of a 1950s structure with a new glass ovoid building. An undulating glass-reinforced concrete canopy unified the old and new structures, serving as the library entrance signifier while sheltering an outdoor play area.

Four tapered concrete portals along curved floor plans connected the interior library spaces to exterior courtyards, with solutions utilising box systems and polystyrene mould inserts for efficient single-pour concrete casting.
